The course provides an overview of the history of Protestant Reformation in Europe, with a focus on selected regions (East-Central Europe, the Nordic countries), processes (denomination-building, Counter-Reformation) and concepts (confessionalization, social discipline, ethno-denominational communities). The course also offers an introduction into the various approaches and currents in Reformation historiography.Læringsutbyte

A general knowledge of European Reformation history, with a focus on the regions mentioned above; a general knowledge of central processes and concepts connected to the Reformation; a general knowledge of major currents in Reformation historiography

The capability of analyzing and drawing conclusions of one¿s own in connection with complex themes, and the capability of producing a text in accordance with the relevant rules for academic writing.
